How to Apply for Cultural Facilities Webinar

DCA LogoThe Florida DCA invites you to attend a "How to Apply for 2011-2012 Cultural Facilities Program Grants" webinar session on June 16 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in preparation for the July 16, 2010 deadline. Don Blancett will cover organization eligibility, grant request and match, your project Scope of Work, structuring the project budget, support material and other application information. Sunshine Lewis will cover how to apply using OASIS and submitting your application. There will also be time for questions and answers.  Click here to register online.

Florida Department of State:
2012 Special Category Historic Preservation Grants

My Florida logoThe Florida Department of State will solicit applications for 2012 Special Category Historic Preservation grants beginning July 1, 2010.  The application is available at www.flheritage.com.  This program awards matching grant assistance up to $350,000.00 for the acquisition and restoration of historic structures, archaeological excavations, and exhibits on Florida history.  Grant funding is contingent upon appropriation by the Florida Legislature and will become available after July 1, 2011.

The deadline to apply is August 31, 2010 at 5:00 pm (EST).  One paper application copy with attachments and signatures must be hand delivered, OR clearly postmarked for mail delivery, OR show evidence of submission to an express mail service on or before this date as well.   The Florida Historical Commission will review and rank the applications November 15-16, 2010.

The Ford Foundation:
Space for Change Planning and Pre-Development Grants

Ford Foundation GrantThe Ford Foundation's Space for Change initiative is providing $100 million to support a new generation of arts spaces throughout the United States. The Space for Change Planning and Pre-Development Grants, administered by Leveraging Investments in Creativity (LINC), will serve to position a group of exemplary arts organizations to present proposals for capital construction of outstanding artist facilities to a host of funders and lenders. These grants will provide support for critical planning and pre-development activities that may precede partnering in or leading a facility project.

Requirements: All applicants must, at a minimum demonstrate a track record of excellence in their programming and artistic production, be 501(c)(3) organizations that directly serve both artists and communities, demonstrate strong community ties, and have the fiscal and organizational capacity necessary to partner in or carry out a facility project.

Deadlines: Letters of intent for 2010 must be received by Friday, May 28 or Friday, September 17. Visit the LINC website for detailed funding guidelines and application instructions.
