The deadline to apply for the 2010-2011 John Ringling Towers Fund Awards grant cycle was Friday, July 2, 2010. Award notifications will be made the first week of September 2010.
Individual artist awards (up to $5,000) are available in the categories of visual, performing and literary arts. An individual artist award recipient in each category will also receive a residency at the Hermitage Artists Retreat in Englewood, FL. Awards are also available to nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies in the category of historic preservation. The John Ringling Towers Fund Individual Artist Award was designed to recognize practicing, professional, creative artists residing in Sarasota County through monetary fellowship awards. The program provides support for artists of exceptional talent and demonstrated ability to continue to produce work. The John Ringling Towers Fund Individual Artist Award provides up to $5,000. The number of awards will vary according to the number of applications reviewed, the recommendations of the panel and the funds available.
The John Ringling Towers Fund Historic Preservation Award is given to nonprofit organizations or governmental agencies located in Sarasota County, to be used for historic rehabilitation, capital (bricks and mortar), preventive maintenance projects or national register designations. The program provides grants of up to $5,000 in recognition of historic preservation projects. The number of awards will vary according to the number of applications reviewed, the recommendations of the panel and the funds available.
