Ragtime Tango and Blues

The Italian Saxophone Quartet

“Think you don’t like saxophone quartets? Oh my, think again! … A revelation ... knocked me out from the first notes.” — Monterey Peninsula Herald

The Italian Saxophone Quartet brings the house down with their interpretations of classical music to “pops”, and everything in-between. Founded in 1982, the Quartet brings together four of the most established soloists in their field. They have given hundreds of concerts in Italy, the United States, Japan, Greece, Germany, France, Russia, and Sweden. Four-time Grammy-winning composer Joe Harnell said, “Never before have I heard anything quite as wonderful!”

Federico Mondelci has appeared at La Scala, Milan under Seiji Ozawa. He has toured world-wide as a soloist with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra.

Marco Gerboni has collaborated with many major Italian orchestras, including the Maggio Musicale, Florence and La Scala, Milan.

Mario Marzi
toured Spain under Zubin Mehta with the Florence Maggio Musicale, and has worked with various ensembles both in Italy and beyond.

Massimo Mazzoni represented Italy at several World Saxophone Congresses, performing in Germany, USA, Japan and Spain.
