Ernest Bloch's Avodath Hakodesh represents the first complete setting of the Jewish Saturday Morning Sabbath Service set in the Western classical music idiom. A work which Bloch, himself, regasrded as transcending its Jewish roots to become as "Cosmic poem" celebrating the "oneness of man". Musica Sacra Cantorum presents this important masterwork in an interfaith/ecumenical celebration. A panel forum with religious leaders from the Sarasota/Bradenton community will immediately precede the concert.
