Students at New College can major in art, art history and music. Theater is also offered in combination with other disciplines.  All students at New College are required to write a thesis or prepare a creative work as a capstone project.  In the arts, students have the option of producing the performance of a play or musical, writing a piece of music, producing a portfolio of pieces, performing a recital or exhibiting artwork.  Students also participate in internships with local arts organizations, including the Ringling Museum and the Asolo Rep.

New College hosts Sarasota's only contemporary music series, New Music New College (http://www.newmusicnewcollege.org), featuring world class guest artists performing cutting-edge modern music.  In addition, the College offers traveling theater companies, student dance tutorials and choral performances, an exhibition of student visual art and an annual free concert featuring an ensemble of the Sarasota Orchestra performing student compositions.
