Caroll Michels is a career coach and artist-advocate, and has helped thousands of beginning, mid-career and established fine artists launch and sustain their careers. She is the author of the classic handbook How to Survive & Prosper as an Artist. Selling Yourself without Selling Your Soul (Henry Holt & Company, New York), which is now in its 6th edition (2009). She is the founder of the Artist Help Network (www.artisthelpnetwork.com), a launching pad to help fine artists mine resources on career development and career challenges – packed with publications, organizations, service providers, Web sites, software, and audio-visual materials, pinpointing information on a comprehensive and focused range of topics. She is currently on the faculty of the Ringling College of Art + Design, Continuing Studies and Special Programs -- where she teaches the course Career Development for the Artist.
